Find out about Vancouver galleries permanent, temporary and visiting exhibits, as well as its special events and programs. Almost all of these galleries are located on Granville Street, south of the Granville Street Bridge, or on West 6th Avenue, just a half block from Granville. You can walk a few blocks and visit all these galleries on foot.

Catriona Jeffries Gallery

Founded in 1988, Catriona Jeffries Gallery focuses on the current manifestations of post conceptual art practices in Vancouver as well as the origins of conceptualism in Vancouver. The gallery further explores the critical relationship that exists between its Canadian artists and particular international artists whose practices engage in a reciprocating dialogue. Through its ongoing exhibition program, invitational projects, and off-site curatorial interventions, the gallery contributes to an international discussion and currency of contemporary art. It is in this area that Catriona Jeffries Gallery has established a strong reputation amongst the international curatorial, critical and collecting community as being one of Canada's pre-eminent spaces for contemporary art.

Canada’s national fine art auction house, Heffel’s regularly conducts live ballroom auctions of Fine Canadian Art in Vancouver during the Spring and Toronto in the Fall, preceded by previews of their sales in both cities. Bau-Xi (pronounced Bow-She, it means 'great gift.')

BAU-XI (boe she) means "great gift." The Bau-Xi Gallery was established in Vancouver B.C. in April of 1965. It is the oldest contemporary gallery in Vancouver. The gallery was opened by Bau-Xi Huang in order to create a showcase for the many emerging and established Canadian artists in need of a gallery on the West Coast.


Marilyn S. Mylrea Studio Art Gallery

A Studio Gallery that offers the community an opportunity to interact directly with the artist. The gallery features spiritual and sensual art. Ms. Mylrea is a Canadian citizen and was born in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. She lived in small mining towns in Ontario until moving to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1962. Her father was a geological engineer and the family sometimes travelled due to his work.

Atelier Gallery

The Atelier Gallery is located in the heart of Vancouver's gallery row on South Granville Street, and showcases contemporary Canadian paintings, drawings, photography, and prints. The gallery also houses a collection of contemporary American and European prints which are available on request. The Atelier Gallery represents established, mid-career artists of national and international stature. We also endeavour to present young artists of commitment and talent, providing a venue for their work and encouraging public awareness and acceptance of new trends and fresh voices.

State Gallery

The State Gallery is a private gallery located in Vancouver’s South Granville Gallery Row district. Founded by Susan Almrud in 2001, the gallery’s striking and cutting-edge upper floor space is designed by world-renowned Canadian designers Patkau Architects. The site is an ideal venue for the presentation of contemporary art and projects. Housed within the gallery is a main exhibition space along with a smaller project room.
